How Can I Clean The Coffee Stain From Inside My Metal Thermos?

21 July 2009 in Coffee maker

I just took my fully metal thermos out of storage after 5 years and realized it has a coffee stain on the inside of it and I can’t seem to get rid of it. It looks shiny almost like a varethane or something and isn’t thick at all and is even see through. Anyhow thanks for any suggestions before I head out and buy CRL.

  1. Definitely use white vinegar.
About 1 cup vinegar to 3 cups water
Soak for 15 minutes, drain, then use a slightly abrasive sponge to get the remaining stain out

  3. Try white vinegar. Dilute it with water. 1part vinegar and 3 parts water. Let it soak for about 15 minutes. Give it a try. That’s what I use to clean my coffeemaker.

  5. HOT water and dishwasher detergent (powder works best), let the paste sit for a few minutes, and then rinse.

  9. I always used water and a little bleach in my husband’s thermos. Let it sit, rinse well, allow it to air dry.
