Don’t use a drip coffee maker. Go get yourself a french press, you’ll get a fuller richer cup of coffee.
use good coffee, fresh ground and fresh roasted! the other secret is water temperature controll, you want it just under boiling when it is added to the beans. i like a fine ground medium dark roast in a conical metalic mesh filter. a good low tech option is the melita cup top coffee maker, pour hot water over and it drips right into the cup!
just remember good coffee, you cannot get good coffee in a grocery store, it must be fresh roasted and ground!http://www.coffeworks.comhttp://www.deansbeans.com/coffee/index.h…
I know most people are use to using a coffee maker but making coffee the way shown below makes a HUGE difference. Give it a shot when you are not in a rush.
Old Fashioned Puerto Rican Coffee
1. Boil approximately 4 cups of water in a small saucepan.
2. Let water come to a boil.
3. Quickly pour in 4 heaping tablespoons of espresso style coffee (either fresh ground or prepackaged item like Bustelo – but it must be good espresso coffee – this makes a difference)
4. Let it come to a boiling rise again.
5. Remove pot from stove immediately.
6. Pour into a “colador” (looks like a white sock on a wooden handle) that is held over a serving coffee pot.
7. Pour warmed milk and sugar to mug to taste.
8. Add coffee to taste.
BUEN PROVECHO!
P.S. If you would like to see what a colador looks like there is a picture of it at the below website. The recipe is found in the beverages section.
Go with French Press (Bodum) and use organic coffee. Grind beans just before brewing
I find that two scoops works to make a real strong cup of coffee like you get at the shops. But if you like a certain coffee from a shop most of the time they sell it there and you can use that at home instead of something store bought thats generic. It may cost a little more but thats what I do and its worth every penny to have that better cup of coffee.
Try varying the amount of coffee powder you use first. Sometimes, it’s all about the thickness and intensity of the coffee. Next, you should give a chance to all the other kinds of sweetening agents and milk types out there. For instance, try golden sugar instead of normal white sugar. Maple syrup or honey can be used to sweeten your coffee too – you might actually like the taste. And instead of full-cream milk, try condensed/evaporated milk. Good luck and have fun trying out!
My perfect cup:
Dunkin regular coffee beans grounded @ ready to use time.
1 tablespoon for each cup of water…if you want stronger throw in 1/2 tablespoon extra fro each cup of water.
3 spoons of sugar
1/2 and 1/2 only enough to cover sugar at bottom of cup
and 1/2 1/2 no older than 1 week old
This is my perfect cup…My coffee maker has a timer…so this is great…it did take me a few times to get it right…but its perfect now. Sipping ….ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Buy an old coffee press, you will taste coffe like you never had before. And it is not expensive at all.
You need to buy brand 8:00 Coffee, make sure you buy the whole bean coffee, get a grinder, always best when freshly ground, use a little bit of half/half creamer and you are having the best cup of coffee EVER!
hi… take 1teaspoon of good brand coffee powder add one and a half tea spoon of sugar make a thick paste with a warm water in a cup beat it with a spoon till the paste becomes white add milk and enjoy
mix fresh milk and sweeten milk taste great.
It is measurements. See those numbers on the coffee machine. On a normal sized coffee spoon, you add 1 spoon full ( make sure it is even at the top) per 2 ( number on the coffee machine) cups.
