  1. Good Instant Coffee
    Steps
    1. Put water in a kettle and plug it in. If you do not have a kettle, then put water in a pot and put it on the stove. Or use an immersion heater and warm up the water in a seperate heat-proof mug. The easiest method is to use a microwave.
    2. Take the instant coffee and put about one slightly rounded teaspoon (this may vary based upon how strong one likes their coffee) in a mug.
    3. Pour the very hot (nearly boiling) water into the mug.
    4. Add fresh whole milk, fresh half-and-half, or non-dairy creamer to the coffee if desired. Evaporated milk from a can (undiluted) may also be used, and sugar.
    5. Flavorings such as vanilla extract, cocoa powder, or ground cinnamon may be added at this time. If the coffee has been modified, then stir thoroughly until all extra ingredients have been dissolved.
    Tips
    * All the additives and measurements vary based on the person so be sure that you know what you like!
    * The sugar, creamer, and/or flavorings may be measured into the cup before adding the water.
    * Store instant coffee in the freezer in an air-tight container in order to maintain that fresh aroma that it has when you first open the new container.
    * If desired, you may use artificial sweeteners instead of sugar. However, be aware that aspartame (Nutrasweet/Equal) breaks down with heat, so it loses sweetness over time. This does not occur with saccharin (Sweet N Low) or sucralose (Splenda).
    * You might want to add the milk to the mug before adding the boiling water.
    Warnings
    * Even though instant coffee doesn’t contain as much caffeine as brewed coffee, it still has a substantial amount of the drug. Too much caffeine can lead to health problems.
    * Making instant coffee means being close to water which is at scalding temperatures. Take reasonable safety precautions when around extremely hot water.http://www.ineedcoffee.com/07/coffee-par…http://www.ineedcoffee.com/07/iced-coffe…http://www.ineedcoffee.com/07/coffee-bbq...

  3. Go to Walmart and buy a Car Power Inverter with direct plug-in. Anyway it goes into your cigarette lighter in your car/truck and converts the current from DC to AC.Then you can take your coffeemaker with you and have coffee anytime.
See a picture of it on this site below.

  5. As long as you can boil water, there are a couple great options.
You could bring a small french press, or you could buy a single mug filter that you just place the grounds in and pour water through.
Here’s a single cup filter at Eastern Mountain Sports:http://www.ems.com/catalog/product_detai...
    Have fun camping!

  7. Either buy instant coffee for the occasion or else do it peculator style and drip through a filter. (Boil water in a pot over the campfire, add the coffee grounds and then strain in a cheesecloth, filter or with a tea strainer.)

  9. Well, I got stuck at the cottage – here’s what I did – better than nothing. I boiled water, put coffee in a filter, and held ot over my cup, then poured the boiling water over it and let it drip into the cup. It would have worked better had the cup been bigger, but it gave me coffee.

  13. I dated someone who worked at a coffee shop and from my understanding a percolator is really bad for making good quality coffee.. I heard the best way to go without a coffee maker is to use a french press.. but I am not sure how to use them.. try googling them or wiki..

  15. When we go camping, we take an old percolater coffee pot with us. You put the grounds in the top and water in the bottom and cook right over the fire. That is my suggestion if you want good coffee. It really is good, too. If Walmart doesn’t sell these, try tag sales or salvation army stores.
You could also try a sporting goods store. They might have something special for camping that I don’t know about for coffee.
Of course, there is always instant if you are desparate. Also, in the tea/coffee section of the market you should be able to find what essentially is a teabag with coffee grounds in it. The idea is to add hot water and let it steep. Not sure how good it tastes though.
In my book, bad coffee is better than none at all. Good luck!

  17. can you boil water on a campfire?
do you have a pot (any or a can)
just add the coffee to the water bring to just a boil
remove – - – let set a minuet for the grounds to settle out
pour slowly looking that the grounds do not pour out.
Check out your thrift stores goodwill and other wise used junk stores for the perculator
But I just bought a drip filter coffee maker like the ones on your kitchen counter especially for camp stoves from Coleman.

  19. well im guessing that you take a strainer… put a coffee fliter in there and then ur coffee. After that you boil some water (however much coffee) then just keep filtering it through. keep pooring that through the filter into 2 differant jars or whatever at a time. I hope that made sense..
    JAR 1 (were you pour)
    WATER
    FILTER (water goes through)
    WATER
JAR 2 (Where it ends up)
THEN REPLACE THE JARS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM like jar 2 is on top now :) =] hope i helped..

  21. buy a small french press coffee maker. Then all you have to do is boil the water over the camp fire, fill the french press with coffee, brew 3-3 1/2 minutes and voila the best coffee you ever had. Grind your beans not as fine as you would use for a drip maker
