The mesh in this Gold Tone filter, made of stainless steel, will stand up to years of wear, which is why they call it “permanent.” It eliminates the need for paper filters, which is better for the environment and will shorten most shopping lists, too. It’s made with the usual Krups workmanship, and is both simple to hand wash and dishwasher-safe. This filter will be used every day–I use it so much I wonder how I started the day without it. –Maria Dolan
