What Are Some Creative Ideas For A Coffee Themed Kitchen And Dining Room?
10 July 2009 in Coffee makerI am redoing my kitchen very soon. I plan on redoning it in a coffee cafe theme. I plan on painting the walls a dark red and painting some things black that are on the wall. I plan on getting some coffee signs. Anyone have any creative ideas on how I can decor cheap?

go to starbucks and see what you can mimic from their style.
if you frame pictures, use burlap or canvas as the matte. it’ll add an old world coffee plantation flaire
i just did my kitchen in dark wood, stainless appliances with formica counters that look like soapstone. i splurged on the backsplash, which is a natural slate. looks awesome and could pass for a european bistro.
good luck!
You might want to consider a gold/mustard color to accent the red and black, or perhaps change the black accent to a deep brown color.
Try going online to any of the wallpaper stores and search for coffee. I’ve seen a few really nice borders with a coffee/cafe/bistro theme. You can also search either in your area or online for poster reproductions. Either vintage coffee ads or just cafe/bistro pictures. I personally would go easy on the decorative items specifically doing coffee. Just a bit too much kitsch for my tastes. I do like the idea of mounting some black and white photos on burlap since that’s how all coffee is transported. Finding an old coffee grinder and using it with a potted ivy or even a silk one. Watch your lighting as well. You need bright task lighting, but coffee spots usually have dimmer, more subdued lighting as well.
Try to find a burlap bag that is printed with the name of the producer and country where the beans were grown. Don’t clutter the walls with too many “theme” representatives. Use a wall mounted cup holder to display a few really unique pottery coffee mugs you find at art festivals, yard sales, and second hand shops. I wanna say this. Black and red are really intense colors when combined. Don’t get carried away.
make your own cupboard handles out of spoons. Make a lamp ouut of a sugar decanter and put little columbian men on the walls! LOL I am sorry coundn’t help myself.
