There is a lot of reason why coffee tastes good/ bad. The main reason why some coffee makers make bad coffee is the water pressure and temperature, i.e. water being not hot enough… etc. However, another is the control of timing, i.e. how much time the grounded coffee interacts with the water, hence producing coffee, it is usually set by the company, and this is a key element contributing how coffee tastes.
I think it has to do with how it brews the coffee.
I have a middle grad coffee maker and ther is an “Aroma” button on it. I always use this option, it takes a little longer to brew but it extracts more flavor from the grounds making the coffee more stronger and tastier
Heating the water to close to boiling makes a huge difference.
I find most of the automatic coffee makers don’t heat the water hot enough.
