What Is The Healthiest Thing To Add To Coffee To Make It Taste More Like A Latte?
8 June 2009 in Coffee makerI got a coffee maker for Christmas, and although I like coffee, I LOVE lattes, and was wondering what to put in it to make it more milk-like and how much of whatever it is to add to the coffee, etc. I know nothing about coffee makers/coffee so any advice is appreciated. I would like whatever I add in to have no fat and very few calories if possible. THANKS!

Skim milk and sugar-free flavored syrups.
Latte is usually made with espresso ( a very strong, finely ground coffee) and steamed milk. It’s like cappucino minus all the foam. You can find espresso ground coffee in cans in the coffee aisle of the grocery store. Follow the brewing instructions on the can. Usually it’s about 1/3 espresso to 2/3 steamed milk. Try heating up in a pan or in the microwave, but do not boil) some fat free half and half then add it to the brewed espresso. Make it as sweet as you like. I like splenda.
I love coffee but I can’t drink it black and I’m also concerned about keeping the calories and fat content low so I add one teaspoon of swiss miss cocoa mix. The worst thing is the pre-made creamers, you might as well add rat poison.
healthy would be half and half. It’s got some calories, though, but then again, anything good does.
