You can try mahogany or cherry wood finishes. Both are darker wood finishes which should go well with a red sofa but I’m not sure what shade of red your sofa is…look into both and see if either compliments your sofa.
I would think any kind of natural wood would look nice, maybe a nice honey color. You could also get like a stainless steel and glass one…that would look really nice too
It depends on what style, and what else you have going on in your room. The one I put in the link can give a different look in the three colors it comes in. If you like a cottagey look with a more contemporary feel to it, the white would work. If you like contemporary the black would look good, and the natural would pretty much be neutral.
Depending on the shade of red, any of the folliwng could work:
White (but I would prefer a distressed white–not a solid bright white, and only of you have white accessories in the room)
Black (I love red and black togther–very dramatic)
Glass with steel frame (I would go with a dark finish frame–not one of those shiny chrome ones)
Wood tones can work too–but you have to really see the stain sample near the shade of red.
Good luck.
Maybe these?http://www.homelement.com/index.php?main…
Good luck!
Hello!
So many possibilities with Ikeas furniture and a red sofa!
The nice thing about using a sofa with a great pop of color such as red is it leaves you open to using just about any other color with it. Look around at your surrounding rooms and their wood tones and the style you are using. Kitchen cabinets are another source for determining your other rooms wood colors to create a good flow between the rooms.
Ikeas Ramvik coffee table is really nice. It’s very versatile since it has two hidden end drawers to house TV controllers,
DVDs and whatnot.
It’s available in black / brown or their beech finish for 129.00.
A fantastic price and quite durable!
But they have many more possibilities as well.
Another thing to consider is your throw pillows for the sofa to tie in the wood color you do end up using.
For instance if you use the Ramvik table in black with your red sofa you can find throw pillows to incorporate both the black and the red, oranges, browns….for a rich Asian modern look.
Or you could go for a more subtle fun look by using the beech Ramvik with the red sofa and have more of a cream and red
look which can be very fresh looking! You can then bring in brighter blues and/ or pale yellows for a brighter look.
It really depends on your own personal style and which direction you want to go in.
Hope this helps,
If all else fails, send me a photo of the room and the name of the sofa and I’ll give you some free help just for fun.
All the best,

Buy whatever coffee table looks good to you. Think about how you will feel when you are sitting on the sofa with the coffee table in front of you. Does it have enough surface area and storage space? I always go by what makes me feel good. Look at the other colors of wood in the room. If the coffee table won’t match the other wood exactly, then it is better to get one with an obvious contrast. If you have a significant other, you may want to ask their opinion also.
whats shade of red ?, if its dark or strong i suggest a dark wood would be fine, for a sophisticated look.
Obviously it’s going to be contemporary. Without seeing the sofa or the shape, it’s difficult to offer what size or shape tables you should look at. Wood or glass depends on whether you want to feature a rug under the table or not. Lots of variables. Since you bought the sofa at Ikea and you are planning to go back, have the salesperson bring tables to the sofa to see how they look.
